Meaning on a Budget

Lately, except for the cheese thing, I've been doing a much better job of setting and reaching goals and all of that adult crap and frankly, it's pretty boring.

It's not that I miss the thrill of trying to figure out how to pay for groceries at during the week before payday or ransacking my apartment in search of my keys. Nor do I wish to go back to riding scary buses out to the edge of town so I can run myself ragged trying to play a sport that I suck at. The question is where do responsible people find excitement while living within their means?

Maybe I'll go my local park, lie down at the top of the dirt basin and let myself roll down into it, knocking down any dog or soccer player that's too slow to get out of my way. Or I could see if there's a way for me to get on the roof of my apartment building.

For the past couple of months, I've been baking for holidays that have nothing to do with me. This month, I made wedding cakes for Cinco de Mayo. June will be my greatest challenge. All of the June holidays that have nothing to do with me seem pretty weak. Sure, I could bake gingerbread on national gingerbread day, but it would be so painfully obvious. Since I don't own a proper flag, I come up with some kind of monstrous Flag Day confection with blue food coloring and little stars.

Yep, that's what I'm doing.
